Individual Therapy

Life is feeling difficult right now and you just need someone to talk to.

You’re struggling with depression, anxiety, or big life changes.

You feel lonely in your relationships and crave more closeness.

You’ve probably said something like “why can’t I just get over it?”

You thought you had worked through your old patterns, but they’re starting to come up again.

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy gives you a safe place to explore your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Mental health therapists are trained to listen with warmth and compassion in an attempt to truly understand and see you.

The therapists at Lunasa Counseling and Wellness offer you genuine connection because we know that healing happens in the relationship. We create an authentic, loving relationship with the client by showing up as our real selves and encouraging the client to show up as their real selves too. We have found that when a client has the opportunity to experience feeling accepted and celebrated while showing their full, messy self to another, it can be life changing.

What to expect from Therapy at Lunasa Counseling and Wellness

Our therapists offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and self-compassion training in-person in Boulder, Colorado. We also offer online therapy in Colorado.

We recommend making weekly appointments with your therapist in the beginning. This gives you and the therapist a chance to get to know each other and build the healing relationship together.

Your therapist will help you to articulate what you want out of therapy. Then they will tailor the therapeutic process to your unique needs.

Sometimes therapy can feel uncomfortable. It’s important to get the balance right between challenging you enough so that healing can happen, without challenging you so much that it overwhelms you. If anything ever feels too much for you, your therapist wants you to talk to them about it.

Your  therapist will focus on the mind-body connection in order to help you process your emotions, taking a somatic and neurobiological approach. We focus on both the mind and the body, and if the spiritual is your thing, we incorporate that too.
